Are We A Soul-Spiritual Body Having a Physical Experience?

body_soul

Question: Are we a physical body having a spiritual experience or are we a Soul-Spiritual body having a physical experience?

I’ve been contemplating that question for some time now. So I asked another question: Does the physical body possess the Soul-Spiritual body or does the Soul-Spiritual body possess the physical body?

Hmmm. What if we, the Soul-Spiritual body, possesses the physical body? What if the physical body is a special vessel for the Soul-Spiritual body to possess in order to experience this current manifestation? What if our consciousness is not manifested from our physical body but rather our Soul-Spiritual body? What if, when I say “I AM”, it is the Soul-Spiritual body speaking, not the physical body? What if I was misguided and lost all these years when I related my consciousness to the physical body instead of my Soul-Spiritual body?

I found out recently that the Vatican has a claim on all the lost souls. What if claiming to be Man is in fact the Soul that is lost because he/she does not know what he/she is? However, if the Soul suddenly identifies with itself instead of thinking that he/she is the Man then would it still be lost? How is that any different than when I believed I was a person (corporate fiction) 6 1/2 years ago? What is sad is that millions of people still think they are a person / corporate fiction.

Yes, I know, I ask a lot of questions. I had a significant emotional and spiritual shift over the last few days and I’ve been feeling overwhelmed and very emotional. The reality of the situation sunk in when I realized that the Man is just a vessel. It is yet another layer that I have managed to break through and doing so resulted in my perception of my world collapsing and everything changed … again! I’ve gone through a significant paradigm shift again and now I feel like I am starting all over trying to figure life out.

The result is significant as now these passages make way more sense to me;

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I AM the way the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Christ did not say “Jesus Christ is the way”, he said “I AM the way”. “me” is defined as: “That which I have”. Christ was trying to show me that our connection to the Divine is within. All I have to do is see it and accept it and live it. He set the example for me to follow. It is up to me to find the way.

I realize now that I am NOT a Man but I possess a Man. I AM that I AM!

    One of my favorite quotes from Deepak Chopra – “When Jesus pointed the way, he didn’t mean for people to worship his fingure! He was showing the direction we needed to go.”

    Quite sure that Steven Pinker totally debunked the entire concept of your post in the book titled “The Blank Slate.” You should check it out before you espouse more bullshit. Of note:

    - Our concept of a ‘soul’ is really just consciousness, and consciousness doesn’t exist anywhere except in the brain. So in that regard your ‘Soul-Spiritual (conscious)’ body absolutely ‘possesses’ your body, since you can’t live without your head. Chop someones arm off, and they still survive. Try that above the neck, and well, no more consciousness.

    - Trust me. You don’t ‘possess’ a ‘man.’ How would that work? And what’s the difference? We’re not the ‘Ghost in the Machine,’ the ‘Noble Savage,’ or a ‘Blank Slate.’ Have you every heard of evolutionary psychology?

    In the hopes of rational discussion, I hope you don’t delete this post. Thank you!

      Trevor;

      I very rarely delete posts. I only delete posts if the conversation becomes abusive or disrespectful. Calling my views ‘bullshit’ without further discussion or debate may be viewed by some as being closed minded or opinionated or the opposite of ‘rational discussion’. If you want to have ‘rational discussion’ then please dispense with the personal attacks.

      However, I choose to give you the benefit of the doubt so let me share with you my views;

      I agree with you that once the body is dead then the mind is gone too. I think where we differ is the concept of consciousness and the Soul-Spiritual. The question you bring up is; Is Consciousness a manifestation of our Mind? Or perhaps the more important question is; Is our consciousness our soul?

      I suspect that people have been debating these questions for thousands of years. I could also quote many books that support my arguments as well. The truth is, we don’t really know do we? So I choose to have faith and believe that there is much more than just this physical vessel. I don’t believe for a second that when this vessel dies, the essence of who I am is gone forever.

      For me, I choose to explore the possibility that I AM way MORE than just this physical shell / vessel. I choose to explore the possibility that I AM much greater and grander than the physical. This choice that I make brings great peace and joy to my life. It brings great wonder and appreciation to all that I see around me and what I see in others. I see the world as a divine spiritual being, manifesting physical beauty but also manifesting wonders that are difficult to explain with our current knowledge and comprehension. Is it possible that you are right? Sure. I admit that it is possible. So what if you are right? Then I’m faced with the question; what is the point? I asked myself those kinds of questions for 25 years as I lived my life without faith in a Creator, without faith of spirit and those 25 years of my life were dark, painful and without purpose or vision. My faith in the Creator, the Great I AM has helped me bring peace and joy to my life and I want to live my life being happy, helping others and being free. Billions of people believe the same in one way or another.

      So I thank you for bring this book to my attention. I thank you for having the courage to post on my website. I thank you for sharing your views. I choose to continue living my life with the faith that I AM that I AM. I AM greater than just what is manifested from this physical vessel. I AM greater than the sum of my consciousness. I AM choose to use that faith and knowledge to bring freedom and peace to my life and I AM choose to share that with others who see or hear the same. The Kingdom of God is with me and I choose to have faith that it will serve me well throughout the life of my mind.

      In the end, if you are right and when this body dies the essence of me dies with it, then at least I had a happy and fulfilled life. However, if you are wrong and the essence of me continues on, then I’ve learned a great deal from this experience and existence that I can take on as my soul moves onto its next experience.

      I can go on and on. So in the end, what it all comes down to is what one believes. I choose to support and encourage people rather than judge and demean. Thank you Trevor for your post. I know that some people will not agree with me and that is fine.

      I AM that I AM
