Power of the Individual

The truth is;  the power still rests with the people.  Where you spend your money / fiat currency still has a significant impact on the behaviors of those who run the businesses that you frequent.  So the reality is that every day you are voting on how our systems work.  I’m sure you have heard many times;  follow the money.  Have you considered following your money?  Where does your money go?  Who do you support when you make purchases?  Do you spend most of your money towards large, multi-national corporations who’s head offices are over seas some where and the shareholders are not even in your neighborhood and they don’t even share your values?

Knowing the Difference Between Public and Private

I think some people may get confused when the authorities use the word private and what that word really means vs when we use the word private.  It was very difficult for me to make the separation as the word private is used in the public all the time.  However, even the public has ‘privacy’ issues but that is very different than me being in the private exclusively.

I still stand on the concept that the government and all their statutes, regulations, etc are for the ‘public’ only and have NO authority, jurisdiction or ownership in the private.  If they have records of you in their ‘public’ databases then they have a duty to ensure that is not shared with other people (keeping it private) but that information is still in the jurisdiction of the public and they are responsible for the safe keeping of that information.

Removing Our Dependencies on Institutions

I watched Shawshank Redemption the other day with my family and was reminded about how institutionalized we are, even though our prison does not have stone walls and razor wire perimeter. Wikipedia says;

“individuals in institutions may be deprived (unintentionally) of independence and of responsibility, to the point that once they return to “outside life” they are often unable to manage many of its demands.”

I bring this up because a common theme in what I talk about is to remove our dependencies on corporations and governments; also known as ‘institutions’. I’ve talked about the risk of corporations and governments failing and if they do, what can the individual do to provide for him/her self and their family. What are the probabilities of these institutions failing? Well I’ve been sharing in the last few weeks that the probability of this occurring is increasing. Last week I shared about the potential of arrests and the mass resignations that are occurring.

This video is a Fox News report about Timothy Geithner being detained and questioned with the possibility of criminal charges being laid. Who is he? He is the head of the US Treasury and he and a bunch of other people are in big trouble.

FAQ on Removing Ourselves From Fiat Monetary System

Here is an excellent question that was raised by one of our newsletter subscribers. Our duty is to remove ourselves completely from the fiat monetary system. So in that case, why are we charging for a membership, classes and workshops?  rob’s response is located below. Many of us struggle with this very same concept.

Question

Upon seeing your site I have noticed that for private membership you require a payment in dollars, and there are plenty of other add-ons one can pay for. I do not mean this as an attack upon your person but to me this seems incongruent with your chosen lifestyle and leaves me confused. Are you not making efforts to isolate yourself from the fiat monetary system also? I am sure you’re aware how much this system dominates people’s lives to their detriment by a process of extracting resource value.
